Biography


Jackie Clipper aka Jackie C is a singer, songwriter with smooth an sultry vocals that will set your soul on fire and your hands clapping and the feet tapping.  Jackie is a member of D.M.A.M.E.A.  (Detroit Metro Area Musicians & Entertainers Association) in 2014 and 2015 she was nominated for blues artist of the year by the Detroit Black Music awards In 2016, she was also the nominee and finally the winner for the blues artist of the year. Jackie C is known for her blues although she sings old school R&B, Jazz, Neo-soul, and funk.  covering everyone from Betty wright, Etta James, Billy Holiday, Stevie Wonder and Jill  Scott to Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson & Prince.

In 2009, Jackie C started singing with various bands in the Metro-Detroit area. From the Terry Street Band, The Unit, The Nyce Band, The Hasting Street Blues Band and several others she decided it was time to form her own band. In 2011, Jackie C & The Detroit Rhythm Band was form.  With their upbeat and energetic vibes, their vocals and showmanship is something you want to see, performing at any and all venues, bars, festivals, and other events.  Jackie C & The Detroit Rhythm Band gives you something to see. 


In 2015, Jackie C performed “God Bless The Child” on fox 2 news. She also recorded her first original song “why you treat me so bad” written by Mr. Bob White. performing “I Gotta Be Me”  written by her, Chuck CJ Styles and Pablo Hill while with ‘Pure Pleasure’.  In 2016, Jackie C was nominated and the winner for the Detroit Black Music Awards “Blues Artist of the Year”.  She also appeared as one of Ms Thornetta Davis’ sister girls indeed on her new CD (2016) “Honest Woman”. Jackie C never fails to give a wonderful, energetic show and always leave her audience wanting more, giving 110% every time to a following that can only swell to greater heights as she starts to record her original tunes on a CD soon to come.  So, keep your eyes and ears opened as Jackie C & The Detroit Rhythm name continue to ring and soar to greater heights.
